Welcome and thanks for visiting. My Name is Livia Nieves. The drawings displayed here are a small collection I hold close to my heart. They are about 6 x 4 inches, paper, made with markers and pens. I call this serie of drawings "Folkloric Characters". The shape displayed here is a recreation of a well known Puerto Rican
petroglyph
found around the island in caves and in large river boulders. I'm particualarly amazed that these shapes are still
showing
and even new ones are been found all around the island anytime floods uncover them or during large constructions. The original petroglyphs shapes pre-date Columbus' arrival to Puerto Rico in 1493, and were probably made many centuries earlier.
